Don't Waste Your Life Concert-Minneapolis

O.K. so if you've been checking us out on Facebook, you already know that we are huge fans of the 116 Clique. Recently we attended the much anticipated "Don't Waste Your Life Tour" at Club 3 Degrees. Featuring Christian Hip Hop artist, Lecrae, Trip Lee, Sho Baraka, Tedashii, with special guest, Flame. It was THE best concert we have ever been to. The place was packed and I here that they had to turn people away. It was the first time the christian club had hosted a sold out event. Way to go Minnesota for putting us on the map. Now, maybe will get more artists bringing their tours to this lovely state of ours!

The Ambassador released from CMR

Many of you may have heard by now the news of Cross Movement Records artist, "The Ambassador being removed from the company. Below, I have re-posted the info.

CMR's Ambassador Statement

Dear Body of Christ,

It is with much grief, severe disappointment and an overwhelming fear of the Lord that Cross Movement Records is sad to announce that we will be discontinuing the forwarding and promotion of the Artist and Minister, The Ambassador AKA William “Duce” Branch, due to recent findings of moral failure in his marriage. It is CMR’s past, current and prayerfully, future position that living in moral compromise is unacceptable and never allowable in the lives of any of the ministers that we co-labor with. We continue to hold up the teachings of Christ as the standard for all Christians and especially those in Christian leadership and public ministry. Although it is a rare find these days, discipline is still one of the true marks of the true Church.

That being said, we also know according to Hebrews 12:6 that “whom The Lord loves He disciplines.” So we know that our beloved brother Duce is under the Lord’s loving care (Hebrews 12:5-11). We at CMR solicit your prayers for him as he begins the uphill climb of restoration through the process of repentance. We also ask that you remember his wife and children in your quiet time with our Lord as well. We are reminded by Galatians 6:1, that we are to work toward the restoration of our dear brother in due season and also to do such in the spirit of meekness, considering ourselves lest we also be tempted.

Lastly, some that have had this circumstance announced to them through other sources have begun to suggest some type of cover-up or a sweeping under the carpet by CMR because of a slight delay in this statement versus the announcement that has already happened in William Branch’s church. This is the farthest thing from the truth. This matter was unbeknownst to CMR and upon discovery we have taken the proper time to speak with the Lord, The Ambassador, his church leadership and many other Christian leaders regarding this issue. After seeking wisdom and allowing the appropriate amount of time to make sure we had all the issues in full consideration, we have come forward as quickly as we were able to after completing this process.

In conclusion, we apologize for the effect that this may have on many who have followed and supported The Ambassador, Cross Movement and Cross Movement Records for many years. Despite this unfortunate occurrence, CMR and all of its artist/ministers continue committed, our resolve unaffected, with the mission of making the message of the Cross known to the world. Again, we ask for your prayers as we keep our hands to the plow, heal our wounded and worship the God of our Salvation. We remain Christ’s and your servant.

Sincerely,

John Wells
Pres/CEO
Cross Movement Records/ Issachar Media

This news came as a huge shock to me. We are devote CMR fans and had the pleasure of working with them personally when we had our store front in 2004.

Some have thought that the statement was mean spirited and controversial. I, however, believe the best of these men of God and am praying for both healing and restoration in the lives of all that are affected, including CMR, The Ambassador , and most important his wife and children.

Let's not be quick to judge, but be quick to love and help restore our brother to Christ in prayer.

Life On The Way Devotion-Give Me Your Eyes

Here is a quick study on my favourite Contemporary Christian artist song lyrics, Brandon Heith. Yay-ay!

Give Me Your Eyes-by Brandon Heath

Give me your eyes for just one second

Give me your eyes so I can see

Everything that I keep missing

Give me your love for humanity

Give me your arms for the broken hearted

The ones that are far beyond my reach

Give me your heart for the once forgotten

Give me your eyes so I can see

So often we look at the world without really seeing it. We go about our daily life without noticing those around us who may be hurting. But what would happen if we began to really see the people around us? To see their hurt and joy and pain? We would be seeing with God's eyes. When you begin to look at people the way that God does, you see that we are all hurt, broken, and in need of love. You begin to see the real needs around you. And when you are looking with God's eyes, you feel compelled to help. You may not be able to help everyone, but you can certainly help someone. You may not have money, but you might have time, stuff, or skills. Ask God to show you the world through his eyes, and how you can begin to help his people.

Matthew 25:35-40

[Jesus said,] "'For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.' Then these righteous ones will reply, 'Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?' And the King will say, 'I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!'"

Authentic Vs. Religious?

Here's a little video that may make some laugh and may offend others. It's not meant to be controversial, but it does have a message that we should think about as Christians. What do you think? Let's talk about this.

Life On the Way Devotion: 10 Good Reasons

by Hello Kelly

And it feels like I've got to give you

10 good reasons why

You still love me every time

10 good reasons

I deserve forgiveness every night

10 good reasons why

You still love me when I

I ain't got no reason why

How often do you recognize that you're not living up to God's expectations? Maybe you feel like you need to do enough good things throughout the day to even out the bad things you did yesterday. You feel this crazy need to act good enough so that you deserve your salvation.

But the truth is that there is nothing you can do to earn salvation. Nothing. You can't do enough good deeds, because even after the best effort you still won't be perfect. But don't despair! Salvation and grace are God's free gifts to you. FREE!! Even though you can never pay him back, he still accepts you because of Jesus' sacrifice. All you can do is keep running after God and his plan for you every day. That's all he asks of you.

Romans 11:6

And since it is through God's kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God’s grace would not be what it really is—free and undeserved

RELOAD Re-cap

Wow, it was a blessing to attend this years youth worker's conference, RELOAD! It was just what I needed. I feel full and my weapon in locked and loaded.

The morning began with praise and worship by Shachah and a short sermon from Pastor Soo. We were challenged to be open to the changing face of youth and be willing to minister to young people of all nationalities.

Some of the workshops titles were Discipleship: An Effective method of mentoring urban youth- which helped us look at how to be a better mentor to urban kids, and 2020 Vision for schools- which raised the question of what impact we would have on the class of 2020 if we (the body of Christ), reached them now starting school as kindergartners this fall.

Our day ended with part two of Pastor Soo's moving sermon that touched our hearts and souls.

We returned in the evening for a full concert by Shachah who once again rocked the HOUSE! Their Rock/Hip Hop/Soulful sound had everyone on their feet.

I would definitely encourage anyone who works with children from tots to teens to come to next years RELOAD conference. You will be glad you did!

The nXt factor is looking for you

Devotion: Those Nights

Those Nights

by Skillet

I remember when

We used to laugh

About nothing at all

It was better than going mad

From trying to solve all the problems we're going through

Do you remember what it was like to be a little kid? You ran and played whenever you could, laughing for no reason at all, except because you could. You felt so free and without burdens. But now you have responsibilities and bills and . . . life. It can be easy to get bogged down and forget to find the joy and humor in situations. But laughter can help you get through tough situations. Laughter can calm fears, soothe anxiety, and worship God. Sarah laughed when God gave her a child after the age of 90. David laughed with joy when the Ark of the Covenant rolled into town. So laugh. It'll be good for you.

Job 8:2
He will once again fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouts of joy.

Living Light's Top 5 Cd's

So, what's getting play time in my car these days? Well, thought I'd tell you about my top 5 Cd's in the Living Light minivan.

  1. DJ Morph- International: This Cd just bangs! I love the compilation of Holy Hip Hop from all around the nation. From the East Coast to the Third Coast, there's something on this CD for everyone. My family loves it-my first pick.

  2. Coming at a close second, is 116 Clique member, Sho Baraka-Turn My Life Up. I had a hard time finding this CD. I couldn't really get it anywhere, and that's part of this reason why we chose to re-open Living Light Books and Music in the first place. No one should have to struggle to get good gospel music. And this one's a winner! Higher Love is my favorite cut on the project and this was the only song I listened to for about a week, no kidding!

  3. O.K. I love the E.P. so much and it's hard to place it third, but Go Get This! Rhema Souls-Dope Beats Good News You can name your price on this one but if you don't have it, you can still download it for free. Find out how in my previous post. http://livinglightbooksandmusic.blogspot.com/search/label/Hip%20Hop

  4. Marvins Winans Jr.-Image of a man. I hope you didn't sleep on this one. This CD is full of smooth vocals and contemporary urban beats that only a Winans can give you. Produced by heavy hitters Rodney Jerkins, Noel Fisher, and David Garcia.

  5. Last but certainly not least, Lecrae- Rebel. I know this project has been out for a while but this is one that just stays in our car! It never gets old! Someone told me they thought this was his best Cd to date. I thought "No way, you can't top "After The Music Stops, can you? Rebel proved me wrong!

Get a free song download from Integrity Music

Get a free download of one of Freddy Rodriguez praise and worship songs. You'll be blessed!

Devotion: Cant stand to fall

Can't Stand to Fall

by Philmont

But now I realize when I try to hide it's all in vain I end up pushing You away

Remember disobeying your parents when you were a kid? Even if it was something small like taking an extra cookie, you avoided them, fearing that they would find out and then you would be punished. You would go out of your way to steer clear of them. We often do the same thing with God.When we mess up, we avoid him. We stop talking to him, stop reading his Word, and push him further away, just when we need him most. It's during the times when we are struggling that we need to draw closer to God so that he can protect us and give us strength. Remember that God already knows what has happened, and he wants to help you, so don't shut yourself off from him.

2 Timothy 2:13
If we are unfaithful he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.
